Here is your plan for today’s 4 hour tour:

Today’s tour will start with a walk around the historical area of Barcelona: the Gothic Quarter. That’s where the Romans founded Barcelona 2000 years ago, then in the middle ages it witnessed our first period of splendor with the Gothic Times. You’ll walk around medieval plazas and alleys, see Roman ruins and also monumental buildings such as the Royal Palace, the City Council and the Generalitat Government building.

But the most remarkable building there is the Cathedral of St. Eulàlia and the Holy Cross. If you wish to visit it, inside you’ll discover a magnificent wooden choir, beautifully decorated side chapels, the crypt where the Patron Saint of Barcelona is buried, and you’ll also enter a charming cloister where 13 geese live.

Private tours of the Boqueria MarketAlso if you are interested, nearby we can see the Call (Medieval Jewish Section). Despite the attacks suffered in 1391, it’s a highly atmospheric place full of a fascinating although sad history. There can be also visited the oldest synagogue in Europe.

After that, we’ll head to the famous and lively Rambla, a street that is busy any time of the day and night. We will pass a flower market and also have the chance to enter the amazing Boqueria Market, said to be one of the best in the world for its variety and spectacular displays.

A short walk will take us to Plaça Catalunya, the edge of the Old Town limiting with the Expansion District (Eixample), the area where the city started growing 150 years ago following the plan of the engineer Ildefons Cerdà. Here bloomed our Modernism (local Art Nouveau).

Private gaudi toursIn the main street, Passeig de Gràcia, we’ll see the Block of Disagreement featuring works of the top architects of the time, including the famous Casa Batlló by Antoni Gaudi.

Finally, your tour will end with a visit of the inside of Casa Milà / Pedrera, another apartment building by the same architect. Its fairy-talish rooftop is a must-see!

Details of the Chauffeured Tour

:info: Transportation: Car/Minivan with private driver and some walking (5min to 1h) at the sites.
:v: Tour is available Mon-Sun.
:llum: Works great even on Sunday or Monday!

Here is your plan for today’s 4 hour tour:

Today you’ll have a driver to show you around the sites that are outside of the city center. Your tour will start with a ride passed the Gràcia quarter to reach the Park Güell, one of Gaudí’s masterpieces: a failed project of a planned community that has become now a fantastic public park famous for its mosaics.

Next you’ll continue to the breathtaking Sagrada Familia church, where Gaudi devoted the last 43 years of his life. Still a work in progress, the inside was finally dedicated in 2010 and it doesn’t look like any other church you’ve seen before. It will definitely be the hightlight of your whole trip!

After visiting the inside, you’ll continue your tour driving past the area where in 1888 Barcelona celebrated its first World Fair: the Arch of Triumph and the Ciutadella park. And next you’ll get to the waterfront to see the area where the athletes lived during the 1992 Olympics (Olympic Village and Marina), drive along the beaches, the Barceloneta fishermen district and the Old Port.Private halfday tours of Barcelona

During the last part of your tour you’ll explore the Hill of Montjuïc, from where you can see wonderful views of the city. You’ll also stop by the Olympic Stadium to see the rest of the main facilities of the 1992 Olympics, and see the area where in 1929 we celebrated our 2nd World Fair.
