Chocolate Tour
2012
Get tempted by the darkest pleasure…
Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. Is there a better (politically correct) pleasure?
Barcelona is a paradise for chocolate lovers: we have it in all its versions, colors and flavors. Come fall in temptation with us!
Our tours are private tours for your party only. No strangers joining your tours.
In 4 hours expect to see places where you can try/buy:
Tour is available Mon-Sat.
Monday is the weakest day as the Boqueria Market is only partially active.
In August many places are closed for holidays: the tour can still be run, but variety won’t be as exciting…
Transportation: 100% walking tour.
Recommended starting times: 9 or 10am (morning tour only – no tours in the afternoon).
This itinerary starts in the glamorous Eixample District where we’ll be stopping at selected gourmet food stores and bakeries offering delicious chocolate specialties.
Next we’ll enter the Old Town through the backstreets near La Rambla, where old-school cafés and venues hid from the tourist crowds.
We will then cross the Gothic Quarter stopping at some local chocolaty gems, on our way to the trendy Born district, where you’ll have the chance to try the best chocolate cake in the world (2005 award).
The shop owners and assistants are usually very proud of their business and are happy to welcome people into their shops even if you aren’t going to buy anything, so don’t be shy and enjoy the experience of getting in touch with our city’s food treasures!
Some people are adventurous eaters, while some other would rather stay in their safe comfort area; some love expensive wines, while other prefer beer. This tour should be a treat for you, so it doesn’t make sense that we make you eat a set tapas menu for a certain amount per person. It’s way more fun if you can chose every time what you want to eat and drink.
