Hi! I’m Míriam and I was born in Canet de Mar, a charming seaside village between Barcelona and Girona: I’m a true Catalan!

I studied tourism in Girona, then lived in Barcelona for many years (I’ll always be in love with the Gràcia district), but now I’m back to Canet to raise my baby girl.

I met Marta when we were passing our exams to become official tour guides in 2000. Soon afterwards, I got hired by one of the companies that offer daily step-up sightseeing tours, and there we met again one day that Marta joined one of their excursions to Montserrat because she needed to learn how “professional tour guides” organized this daytrip. I was the guide that day, so Marta often says that a lot of the things she knows about Montserrat she learned them from me! ☺

I’m a traveler: I convinced Marta to join me on a trip to the Middle East (when it was still safe), but my favorite remains India: I can’t wait to go back!

I love photography, food and art. I’m passionate, emotional, very honest and straightforward.

I scheduled a private tour of all things Antonini Gaudi with Forever Barcelona for Sunday, June 26. My husband, a retired architect, is a fan of Gaudi's style. I researched tour companies and read reviews prior to making reservations. Forever Barcelona had so many positive reviews, I decided to go with them. I have to admit that paying for a tour so far ahead of time, and to a foreign company was a leap of faith for me! Thankfully, everything went not only smoothly, but it was perfection. Miriam and Manuel (driver) were absolutely wonderful. They arrived on time at the hotel with a sparkly and comfy Mercedes for our tour. Miriam made sure that we saw Gaudi's masterpieces along Las Ramblas including a comprehensive tour of Casa Mila. Then we proceeded to Park Guell and finally La Sagrada Familia and the museum. At every place, Miriam made sure we got star treatment and explained in perfect English what we were seeing. She even found a restroom for me at La Sagrada Familia where I did not have to stand in line. Little things mean a lot! It was worth the extra money to hire the chauffeur for the 4 hour tour. He was right there to take us to the next place so we never wasted time waiting for a taxi. He was a master of finding places to stop so we could get out and take a stroll. For example, we were able to spend some time to really enjoy one of the light pole/benches designed by Gaudi that has a door to shovel charcoal to warm the seat located along Las Ramblas because he found a place to pull over. Thank you Miriam and Manuel! We will definitely use Forever Barcelona next time we are in your beautiful city.

Our tour with Miriam was amazing! Her knowledge of the city and the history was above our expectations. She made our tour enjoyable and it seemed like it flew by. She gave us a great recommendation for lunch and had us dropped off right at the restaurant which was still close to our hotel. Our driver was great as well. We took the Park Güell, Sagrada Familia, Cathedral tour and it deserves more than five stars. Míriam was a wonderful tour guide with such passion for Gaudi and the artists that make Barcelona remarkable. Miriam has been our guide on several tours for the last three years. Her knowledge of art and art history is second to none. I now know more about Picasso than a college semester course would offer, but in far less time.

Really brought everything from the past to life.

We booked them for a 5 day itinerary that consisted of half day and full day day trip excursions and each one was better than the last! Miriam was our guide for the 5 days and let me tell you what a gem she truly is! We are a family of 4 with teen boys and Miriam navigated story telling with a little history lesson with ease. She knows all the spots to take a picture without anyone in the background, the best spot to buy souvenirs, and just the perfect snack to have when we needed an energy boost. We did the Gothic Quarter, La Sagrada Familia, and Park Guell four-hour tour. We were there for the day with our cruise ship and wanted to fit in as much as we could in our short time in Barcelona. Miriam was fantastic. She was professional, knowledgeable, and very welcoming. She worked magic getting past the lines, accommodated our request to find a particular shopping item, helped us take some great family photos, got us to all the sites on time, and even got us into an excellent restaurant at the end of our tour. We did two tours with ForeverBarcelona, Gaudi and Monserrat, and we cannot say which was better as both were excellent. Marta and Miriam were incredibly knowledgable, engaging, and joys to be around. Our three teenagers (18, 18, and 16) loved the tours and remained engaged the entire time. We learned so much more and enjoyed ourselves so much more than we could have on our own. With a halfday walking/taxi tour with Míriam and she was phenomenal. Very insightful and had lots of great recommendations for after our tour as well. It was also nice how she customized our tour on the spot to fit our needs. I wish we had signed up for a longer tour with her!

We were very disappointed that Marta was not able to be our guide as she was already committed those days. But Marta insisted that we would be happy with her friend and colleague Miriam. And we were! Miriam, I can’t stress enough, is one of the best tour guides I’ve ever been blessed with (and I’ve been through a high number of guides)… She knew how to keep my daughter interested and in the conversations, she took us through walkways and paths through the city that I would have never found or come upon on my own. We leaned so much in those two days, I only wish we had her for more.

She took us to places we would have missed had we just walked the city ourselves.

Our guide, Miriam, was wonderful and informative. She showed us wonderful little shops and eateries that we went back to later in our trip. Miriam told us about the events celebrating the Feast of St. John and the Corpus Christi and recommended different events that we might enjoy. After the tour, we sent her a message asking where we should eat dinner with our friends, she gave us a fabulous recommendation.

We had an 8-hour tour with Miriam. We had a walking tour in the morning of "old" Barcelona following by a tapas lunch and then a "chauffeured" Gaudi tour in the afternoon. GREAT experience!!! I don’t think we would have enjoyed our time nearly as much if Miriam was not with us.

We had a spectacular experience with Miriam through ForeverBarcelona. She was so lovely and knowledgeable. We didn’t have to wait in one line and even got special access to avoid steps to make things easier on my mom and aunt, who are a little older.
