A less than one hour ride will take you to Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, the capital of cava-making, and also home to the headquarters of one of the oldest chocolate factories in Catalonia. CHOCOLATE & WINE TOUR FAQ
- OUR BARCELONA WINE AND CHOCOLATE TOUR RUNS: Every day.
WEEKENDS: No English tours available at the cellars or the chocolate factory: You’ll be joining groups of locals in Spanish or Catalan, and your guide will be translating for you.
- TOUR LENGHT: 5 hours (or 7 hours if you decide to stay for lunch in the wine country after the winery visit).
- STARTING TIME: 9AM. This starting time is not flexible.
- WHERE DO WE MEET? WHERE DO WE END? Anywhere you want, within Barcelona city limits.
- IS THERE A LUNCH STOP? No, unless you book the 7-hour tour version.
- HOW DO WE MOVE AROUND? Rides in Mercedes car or minivan for up to 6 of you + guide & dedicated driver. Walking during the winery and chocolate factory visit.
- HOW SHOULD WE DRESS? Inside the cava cellars there’s a constant temperature of around 59ºF (15ºC). A light jacket is recommended in the Summer.
- HOW DOES THE NON-GUIDED OPTION WORK? In the non-guided option you are on your own. Your English-speaking driver might provide light conversation during the rides from Barcelona to Penedes and back, but no detailed explanations of the area. At the winery and the chocolate factory you’ll be shown around by their own staff. They are well trained, but their English level is usually not as fluid as our guide’s. You’ll ultimately be responsible for getting back to the car at the agreed time, or you’ll risk being charged extra hours if you are late.

If you have walking issues let us know in advance, as in some cellars there are short but steep sections of stairs and we would book one that doesn’t have them.

If you are on a cruiseship and you have already seen Barcelona, this half day tour is appropriate as a shore excursion as long as your ship doesn’t sail until 4PM or later (considering they’ll require you to be back on board no later than 1 hour before departure). Pier pick-up and drop-off are included.

This is a 100% private tour, exclusive for you and your party. There is a base rate total per tour (no matter how many people you are), plus a per person rate to cover the entrance fees.
