Barcelona brunch – the yummy way to start a Sunday
You don’t need to miss your Sunday brunch when you are in Barcelona. Actually, our area has an old tradition of strong breakfasts – the Catalan esmorzars de forquilla, literally “breakfasts to be eaten with a fork”. Head to the bars in the Boqueria market at 8AM to see what I mean! That’s how brunch has quickly become popular amongst the local (although not super meanstream yet).
If you need to start your sightseeting day with a lot of energy and for you that means a having late breakfast that fills your stomach – that is, brunch!, today you’ll love our post about the best restaurants for brunch in Barcelona. Check them out!

Their eggs with spinach and mushrooms, and their baked beans are some of our favorite Sunday brunch recipes here.

Placed in one of the best hotels in Barcelona, its brunch is as outstanding as the hotel views. They serve a great range of shellfish, ham, sausages, fresh fruits, baked goods, pastries and drinks. Don’t miss their crepes filled with anything you want.
Tonka. Located in Eixample district, Tonka is a small family restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine and home-made pastries and tapas. From the street, through the next door you might see the pastry chef working on the pastries you will be eating in a while. All their food is organic: their eggs, meat sausages, bacon, yogurt, honey, bread… Even the tofu sausages included in their vegetarian brunch option.
Granja Petitbó. This little restaurant was once a dairy shop. Now, it’s become a vintage place decorated with old-fashioned furniture that confer the place a cozy feel. All their dishes are home-made with fresh products. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays and includes one dish, coffee or tea and one of their original juices. A real Barcelona breakfast!
