These are our favorite jazz bars in Barcelona:

1

Jamboree

Open for over 50 years, Jamboree has contributed to bring Jazz to all Barcelona citizens and remains one of the most active venues for jazz in Barcelona. They offer two concerts each day, all year around.

This venue is not only offering international jazz musicians from all over the world but it’s open to the new generation of Catalan and Spanish jazz musicians that here find an opportunity to play where big jazz stars have played: Bill Coleman, Chet Baker, Lou Bennet…

2

Harlem Jazz Club

The other referent bar for live music in Barcelona is also situated in Gothic quarter. Harlem is a little venue in the heart of Gothic quarter that has become an institution when we talk about Jazz in Barcelona.

It opens every day, and while jazz is their main thing, they also program klemzer, funk and flamenco… featuring always high quality musicians, local or foreigner. Their program also includes other music styles, and even a storytelling festival called Contes i Cuentos organized one a year.

3

JazzSí

A little venue run by Taller de Músics. a renowned music school in the Raval district pioneering in teaching jazz and flamenco in Catalunya. JazzSí is the club in next to the school born to give a chance to young musicians to make themselves known and to perform on stage, play concerts and participate in professional jams.

On Monday live jazz concert, on Tuesday and Sunday rock, blues or pop. On Wednesday Jam Jazz Session of the Taller de Músics students. On Thursday Latin music. And on Friday and Saturday Flamenco show.

4

Cafe Vienès

The street level of Casa Fuster Hotel homes the Café Vienès, a classy café and drink bar that offers every Thursday at 9PM an elegant program of Classic Jazz and Swing sessions that have become a reference for local jazz lovers. You can enjoy a tasting menu while listening the music or just enjoy a drink.

It’s not only a place where world-class artists have played (Woddy Allen, Yoshida Brothers, New Orleans Rag Trio and Eddy Davis among other…), but it was also one of the locations where Woody Allen’s Oscar-winning film Vicky, Cristina Barcelona was filmed. In addition, you will be able to enjoy with a fine dinner while listening to the music. Don’t forget to book in advance.

5

JazzMan

A little jazz club located in the Eixample district since 1979, that has become another classic. As they say: a small club but big on soul jazz! It has become a meeting point for jazz lovers, veteran artists and new talents of jazz.

It has two rooms and a great variety of liquors and drinks. It combines jazz with soul and blues. There’s live music on Mondays and vinyl sessions every Thursday.

AND BONUS! The most fun jazz party in Barcelona:

6

Swing at the Sala Apolo

Once a month (either the third or fourth Sunday of the month – you’ll have to check their website to find out), this gorgeous vintage room holds a swing and jazz concert for dancers. The local lindy hop and swing dancers gather here to dance to the music of the Barcelona Jazz Orchestra. There are box seats available to just enjoy the music if you are not planning to dance.
