The hotel Llegendes de Girona is located in one edge of the Girona Old Town, maybe easier to reach by car than Hotel Historic. It’s another historical building where it is said that Saint Narcissus, patron saint of Girona, lived in the 300’s.

Luxury hotels in Girona city centre
It’s commercial and lively, but it doesn’t have the medieval feel of the old quarters. Also, you must be aware of the different districts on it. The ones with interest for travelers are:
- Barri del Mercadal. It’s the triangle limited by the Onyar river, the railway bridge over Bonastruc de Porta street and the old Hospital of Santa Caterina. Some of it still has a sort-of old but grand flavor, with its plazas and old buildings. And it’s closest to the Old Town.
- Eixample. The modern Expansion of Girona is the grid right underneath the Mercadal, and closest to the Train Station. Still within walking distance from the Old Town, it’s a more commercial area.
- Sant Pau. A more recently built middle-class residential area, further away from the Old City. It’s two main points of interest are the Corte Ingles department store and the Migdia Park, a large green area frequented by locals.
- La Devesa Park. The largest park of Girona acts as its Northern limit. It’s located at the top of the Sant Narcís district and crossed by the railway and large public parking lots.

LOCATION. Barri del Mercadal.
This 4-star hotel is the closest to the Girona Old Town, accessible over the Eiffel bridge just one block away. The hotel is modern and versatile. Ultonia was the name of one of the reiments that fought against Napoleon in Girona in the early 1800’s. And the hotel building was built in 1945 on top of the remains of the city calls. It became a 3-star hotel in 1962, and the adjacent 4-star Gran Ultonia was open in 2009.

The hotel Peninsular is located in the other end of the Mercadal district, very close to the Plaça Catalunya that crosses over the river onto the Rambla of Girona and the Old Town.
