Barcelona In Two Full Days Itinerary

This is a sample itinerary for our Private 2 Full Days in Barcelona.
Final itinerary and timings might vary due to many factors (traffic conditions, your location and pace, your main interests…)

DAY 1

ATTENTION: CHAUFFEURED VARIATION

We recommend this to be a walking tour, or maybe get a driver for the afternoon only. Should you require a driver for the entire day, the itinerary would be reorganized to maximize the rest times during the rides.

RAMBLA & BOQUERIA MARKET

A lovely stroll

After your guide meets you at your location, your first Barcelona full day tour starts with a walk down La Rambla and a visit of the colorful Boqueria Market.

GOTHIC QUARTER

The origins of Barcelona

10AM

Next you’ll be entering the historical Gothic Quarter, walking around medieval alleys and plazas, crossing old courtyards, and learning about the Royal Palace of the Crown of Aragon, the Barcelona City Council and the Catalan Government building, among other.

CATHEDRAL OF ST. EULALIA

Gothic Architecture
The highlight of the morning will be visiting the Cathedral of St. Eulàlia, with its choir, artistic side chapels, the crypt of St. Eulalia and an old cloister inhabited by 13 geese. If you are not too interested in churches, though, you can just see it from outside and save the time for other sites.

CALL

Medieval Jewish Section
As an alternative, if you are interested, your guide can take you instead into the Call, the medieval Jewish Section, where you’ll learn about the community that leaved there until the attacks suffered in 1391. Optional visit of the oldest synagogue in Europe.

BORN DISTRICT

The Barcelona SOHO

Your walk will next take you to the Born District, where stands the elegant Church of Santa Maria del Mar. The areas is full of boutiques, cafés and tapas bars.

TAPAS LUNCH

Time to Eat!

Noon

A tapas lunch is a great opportunity to get a little rest and a variety of local specialties. Your guide will take you somewhere in the area where locals go, prices are decent, food is great and service is efficient.

PICASSO MUSEUM & 1888 WORLD FAIR

If you’ve chosen the 8-hour day option, after lunch you’ll visit the Picasso Museum to learn about the artist early years and see his work from a totally new perspective. You’ll also walk around the 1888 World Fair area: Ciutadella Park and Arch of Triumph.

1PM or 3PM

HILL OF MONTJUIC

The city’s green lung

1.15PM or 3.15PM

In the afternoon you’ll head to the Hill of Montjuic, where you’ll see the sites from the Barcelona Olympics: Olympic Stadium, the Calatrava Tower and the Sant Jordi Stadium by Arata Isozaki. Then you’ll walk to the area where in 1929 was hosted the second World Fair of the city. The Mies van der Rohe pavilion, the National Palace, the Plaça Espanya with its monumental fountain and the former Las Arenas bullring are some of the buildings you’ll see. That’s where your tour ends.

When your tour ends, your guide can put you on a taxi or give you directions to get back to your hotel.

DAY 2

Your tour will start with a taxi ride (or chauffeured ride, depending on what you booked for that day)

PARK GÜELL

Fairy-tale Land

Your tour starts with a visit of the enchanting Park Guell, one of Gaudi’s failed projects (inside visit), famous for its wonderful mosaics.

10AM

8-HOUR TOUR ONLY

MODERNIST HOSPITAL OF ST. PAU

UNESCO World Heritage

If you’ve chosen the 8-hour day option, you’ll visit the Hospital of St. Pau by Gaudi’s competitor Domènech i Muntaner, either right before or right after the Sagrada Familia church.

11.30AM

SAGRADA FAMILIA CHURCH

Unbelievable

10.15AM or 11.45AM

Next you’ll be taken to the incredible Sagrada Familia Church (inside), Gaudi’s masterpiece still under construction. While the inside was completed in 2010, there are still 10 more towers missing. You’ve never seen any other church like this before!

11.45AM or 1PM

LUNCH

Time to Eat!

Noon or 1.15PM

Today’s itinerary is more packed than yesterday, so we’ll just stop at some local bar for a quick and light lunch (sandwich, salad…) before moving on to the next stop – 30 minutes.

Or if you booked the two extra hours, your guide will take you today to a different tapas bar in the area, so you can continue exploring new flavors and discovering new yummy local recipes – 1 hour.

12.30PM or 2.15PM

CASA BATLLO

The house of the Dragon

12.35PM or 2.30PM

You’ll explore the fancy Passeig de Gracia avenue, inspired in the Champs Elysées in Paris. There you’ll see the Block of Disagreement, and enter another Gaudi masterpiece: Casa Batlló.

1.30PM or 3.30PM

CASA MILA / LA PEDRERA

The Stone Quarry

1.45PM or 3.45PM
