This is a sample itinerary for our Private Tour of the Dali Museum and Girona.
Final itinerary and timings might vary due to many factors (Dali Museum tickets availability and opening hours, your location and pace, your main interests, traffic conditions…)
9AM - Meet your guide & driver

DRIVE TO FIGUERES - 1hr 30min
Your guide and your driver will pick you up at your hotel/apartment and take you to Figueres, driving along a highway that as soon as the industrial suburbs of Barcelona are left behind starts crossing farmlands, pine tree woods and the Montseny mountains, until it reaches the Empordà area where Figueres is located.During the ride, your guide will start filling you in about Dali’s life, so you have a strong background that allows you to understand even better what you are about to see in the museum.
10:30AM - Walk

DALI MUSEUM- 1 hr 30min
A surreal funfairDali used the ruins of the old theater of his hometown to create there his museum: a place that would be the highest exponent of Surrealism. With a theatrical air and a peculiar sense of humor that will occasionally make you feel like you are in a vintage funfair, you’ll find here a fine selection of some of Dali’s most important pieces, together with some artwork he designed in purpose of the museum.Your guide will get you to skip the lines (specially long in the high season), and show you around the museum, relating what you’ve been learning in the car with the works there. After this visit, your opinion about Dali will have changed forever!
Noon - Drive

DRIVE TO GIRONA- 45 minutes
After visiting the museum, get back to the car to be taken to Girona: a pleasant ride back the same road you took in the morning, during which you can continue discussing what you’ve seen at the museum and get ready for what awaits you in you next stop.
12:45PM - Walk

GIRONA- 1hr 15min
A medieval gemFollow your guide across the bridge over the Onyar River that takes you to the Old Town to enjoy a Girona walking tour around its medieval alleys and backstreets, maybe a visit of the Medieval Baths and a walk along the gardens of the city walls, a view of the Cathedral and a visit of its intriguing Call – the old Jewish Section.Your guide will adapt the tour to your interests, and you’ll be able to decide if you wish to pay the fees to enter any site (Baths, Cathedral, Museum of History of the Jewish…) or just walk around and see them from outside.
2PM - Lunch

LUNCH - 1.5 hours
Time to eatYour guide will take you to some local restaurant where you can have a lovely meal tasting Catalan and Spanish specialties.
3:30PM - Drive

BACK TO BARCELONA - 1.5 hours
Back to the car, enjoy a little nap or continue chatting with your tour guide about what you’ve seen today, ask any other questions you might have about the local history and culture, and get recommendations for the rest of your stay.At the end of the tour, you’ll be dropped back at your hotel or apartment or other location of your choice within the city limits.
