Best Hotels on La rambla in Barcelona
WE SORTED OUT THE BEST HOTELS AT RAMBLA FOR YOU
La Rambla (or sometimes referred to as Las Ramblas or Les Rambles) is a whirlpool of people walking up and down. It’s the center of the Old Town, a boulevard flowing non-stop from the Eixample district to the Old Port. Busy the 24 hours of the day. The location is great as headquarters to explore Barcelona, as you’ll be walking distance from many great sites and there are some fun food options around.
The upper Rambla is closer to Plaça Catalunya, with lots of public transportation options (subway L1, L2, L3 and L4 nearby, airport bus…) and walking distance from Passeig de Gracia and the Gothic Quarter. The Central Rambla has only access to the L3 subway line, but you’ll be closest to the Boqueria Market and the Gothic Quarter. The lower Rambla, from Plaça Reial to the Columbus sculpture, is closer to the Port Vell marina and also has only access to the L3.
5 star hotels in Las Ramblas:
1
Le Meridien
Let’s start with a classic amongst the las Ramblas hotels. While the Meridien has been around for a long time, it has been recently renovated to adapt to modern necessities. Neither old-fashioned nor high-tech, it’s the kind of good old hotel that aims at being convenient rather than unforgettable.

Bagués
The design of the hotel rooms has also been approached as if they were little pieces of art. Jewels and gems lovers will adore this boutique hotel in what used to be the headquarters of one of the oldest jewelries in town.

3
Sonder DO Plaça Reial
If you are a foodie, this will be your perfect choice: the first gastronomic boutique hotel in town and one of our favorite boutique hotels in las Ramblas and the whole city. They combine the exclusive services of a 5 star hotel with an excellent cuisine that can be enjoyed in three different spaces: their hotel restaurant, their outdoor terrace in Plaça Reial and their rooftop.

Cozy colonial decoration, and a great rooftop summer drink bar with views over the Old Town. It’s also the only one of all las Ramblas hotels featuring a complete spa.

5
Ikonik Ramblas
A hotel of contemporary design that has themed each of the 5 floors of its historical building according to a different section of La Rambla. It’s a basic 4-stars (no rooftop bar, no pool, no gym), and it has only single and double/twin rooms. But all of them are sound-proofed and some have balconies over la Rambla.

6
Hotel SEHRS Rivoli
Located in a neoclassic building, it offers basic single, double/twin and triple rooms with little charm. But you can up your game booking a room with spectacular views over Las Ramblas, a Superior room with a private patio, or go for their spectacular Suite. Its Versailles-inspired decoration will make you feel like an aristocrat from the old times!
The hotel is also equipped with a wellness area featuring a water zone, jacuzzi and hot sauna. Plus there’s a drink bar, a restaurant overlooking La Rambla, and in the warm months they the restaurant also serves an outdoors terrace overlooking a lush garden. And don’t forget their Summer rooftop bar!

Royal Ramblas Hotel
This is another basic 4 stars: no rooftop, no pool, but it does have parking and a casual restaurant in the street level. The rooms are modern, sound-proofed and recently renovated. They have single, double/twin, triple and family rooms. The difference between their basic and their premium ones is mostly a more trendy contemporary design and some extra square feet.

8
Hotel Oriente
The hotel was one of the first to incorporate electricity, was impacted by the last bomb to explode in Barcelona during the Spanish Civil War. And personalities such as Hans Christian Andersen, Maria Callas, Errol Flynn or the iconic bullfighter Manolete have stayed here. Luxurious in the past, now it’s a decent 3-star hotel with lots of history.

Hotel Arc La Rambla
This is one of the only green hotels in La Rambla, certified by Biosphere Sustainable Life. The rooms (single, double/twin, triple and family) are modern and some have views over la Rambla. They also have rooms adapted for people with limited mobility, and junior suites with separate living room and a balcony over Las Ramblas.
And if you want to feel as if you lived in Barcelona, their 509 room is a wonderful duplex with a 63 sqm / 687 sqf terrace with Rambla views! The hotel also has a solarium, and an agreement with a local gym to use their facilities upon previous booking.

Citadines Ramblas
Citadines is an Ascott Star Rewards brand that specializes in apart-hotels. They do have normal double/twin rooms, but what makes their offer unique are their studios for 2 peoples and their 1-bedroom apartments for up to 4 people. Both feature a separate living room area, plus the studios have a kitchenette and the apartments a fully equipped kitchen.
I also love the touch of color in their decoration, compared to the brown and neutral shades of most other hotels in las Ramblas. Too bad it doesn’t have rooftop, pool or food facilities other than the breakfast area.

Continental Barcelona
Writer Georges Orwell stayed in this hotel during the Spanish Civil War in 1936, and here he wrote part of his famous Homage to Catalonia. The hotel preserves its vintage feel, in the decoration of the rooms as well as in some of the common areas.
The rooms are single or double/twin, with or without balcony. And their bathrooms are modernly renovated. But what makes the offer of this hotel unique is their 24/7 buffet with snacks and light dishes complimentary for all guests.

Exe Ramblas Boqueria
A nice modern 3-star hotel with double and twin rooms and optional balcony or terrace with views. The breakfast area overlooks La Rambla and there’s also a terrace with views over the Boqueria Market.

13
Flor Parks Hotel
The rooms are clean, basic and somehow old-fashioned. But the rooftop solarium with a spectacular view of the sunset makes up for it. Some rooms have a bathtub with hydromassage, others have a shower with chromotherapy.

14
Yurbban Ramblas
A boutique hotel idea for hip young travelers, solo or couples, that appreciate good design. Although they also have family rooms for up to 4 people (actually it’s 2 connecting rooms). The hotel is designed for socializing, either at the different sofa corners, or at the self-service bar, or by the fireplace, or at the co-working area.
There’s no gym, but they can provide a fitness kit on request. Plus it’s a green hotel with a Class A Building Certification, and they contribute to several local environment and charity foundations.

Hotel Ramblas Barcelona
A basic hotel that would benefit of a decoration redo, but it is worth mentioning for its double rooms with terrace, some of them with unique views over the rooftop of Gaudi’s Palau Guell.
LOCATION: Lower Rambla. Book your room here >>
16
Hotel Ramblas Internacional
Basic but modern hotel with double, tripe and family rooms, many with La Rambla views. The rooms are on the smaller side compared to other hotels in the same category, but most of their beds are king sizes. It is also possible to book a room by hours, which comes handy if you are only in town for a short layoever.

Two-star hotels on Las Ramblas
If you are looking for affordable accommodation in Las Ramblas, there’s three more hotels you should consider:
- Hotel Cuatro Naciones. Lower Rambla. A once luxurious hotel with over 300 years of history, that welcomed celebrities such as Stendhal, Pirandello, Buffalo Bill and Einstein, now it feels modest but not dated.
- Hostal Benidorm. Lower Rambla. The common areas have the feel of a modern and happy youth hostel, but the rooms are more like a basic hotel.
- Ramblas by Pillow. Lower Rambla. Boutique 2-star hotel for adults-only. The access is through a gated alley that leads to the Wax Museum.
