Looking For Passeig De Gracia Hotels?
If you are looking for a hotel, Passeig de Gracia (or Paseo de Gracia, in Spanish) is one of our favorite areas to stay in Barcelona. Finding the right place to stay when you are first visiting a city isn’t an easy task. But this area works great for most type of travelers. This avenue of the Eixample district, designed to look like the Champs Élysées of Paris, offers a nice combination of everything a visitor will need: easy access from the airport, walking distance (5 to 15min) to top tourist sites, good shopping opportunities, nice restaurant offer… Because of its prime location, that’s where some of the top hotels are located, but it’s also possible to find more affordable choices with great added value. Choosing to stay near Passeig de Gracia will contribute to making your trip a success.
But Passeig de Gracia is about 1 mile long, so the exact location of your hotel will also determine your experience to a degree:
- Upper Passeig de Gracia is located closer to Gaudi’s La Pedrera and the lovely Gracia district great to explore if you have enough time in the city and love going a bit off the beaten path. You’ll have access to the L5 connecting with Sants Station (airport and high speed train) as well as Sagrada Familia, as well as the L3 (green line: Rambla, Park Guell, longer ride to Sants Station).
- Central Passeig de Gracia is best located for shopping, and it’s also close to Gaudi’s Casa Batllo and the block of disagreement, and it has access to the L3 subway line.
- Lower Passeig de Gracia is where the less fancy stores are located (Zara, H&M, Mango…), but it’s within walking distance from la Rambla and the Gothic Quarter, and not too far from Casa Batllo either. You’ll be close to the L4 (beaches, Poblenou district), L2 (Sant Antoni, Sagrada Familia), the L1 (Arc de Triomf) and L3 – so it’s the most central location.
For the purpose of this post, I’ll be focusing on the ones located right on Passeig de Gracia but I’ll also be mentioning the ones located 1 block away because some of them are wonderful choices as well. I’m not going further than 1 block because then the lenght of the post would double (and it’d be too much info to process for you). I’m however deliberately omitting the ones in Plaça Catalunya because I already have a specific posts about the most central hotels that covers them.

But if you are looking for something that feels more familiar, international chains also have their space in this exclusive area of Barcelona. Although the rooms might not be as large as you might be accustomed (in fact, most hotel rooms in Barcelona aren’t that big…), the service is excellent and it also features one of the best restaurants in town: Moments. It’s also one block from Passeig de Gracia train station, with trains taking you to the airport and Sants Station, where you take the AVE train to Madrid.
