Asador de Aranda
Although they have some other more central locations, it is worth taking a longish taxi ride to reach their Tibidabo venue, located in a gorgeous modernist villa in the elegant Barcelona uptown. They serve the best Spanish meats: don’t miss their specialty, wood oven baked lamb.
Who cares if this restaurant is so big that you soon realize it must be a money-making machine? Even locals agree that they have the freshest fish and seafood in town (and the lobster water tank welcoming you at the entrance is a good testimonial of it). AND BONUS! This is our favorite?
One of our favorite examples of gastrotaberns (chic tapas restaurants) is located in the trendy area of el Born, right next to the newly opened museum of Mercat del Born. Their owners being from Asturias (north of Spain), their menu shows a pleasant touch of their regional cooking. Fish and seafood tapas are their specialty, but you’ll also find some meat and veggies options as well.
