A contemporary art gallery in the heart of the Old Town
[icon color=”#D96A20″ size=”18″ type=”icon-lock” unit=”px” ] The visit to this Barcelona mordern art gallery is NOT a tour, but an extra option to spice up your Barcelona tour or extend it a bit longer.
You’ll be taken to this modernist apartment in Plaça Reial, an animated plaza with palm trees and fountains off la Rambla, housing a Barcelona modern art gallery actively committed to the history and the social issues of the area.
You’ll be shown their collection of contemporary art pieces, and as a plus, you’ll also learn about Ocaña, a bohemian artist from the 70’s who lived in that precise building. It’s not easy to describe this naif painter: anarchist, controversial, histrionic, bisexual, transvestite, showman and devote of the Asunción Madonna… Simply fascinating.
At the end of the visit you’ll be offered a drink.
[icon color=”#98C814″ size=”18″ type=”icon-ok” unit=”px” ] The gallery’s goal is to open up their venue to visitors, and share their history with you. You will NOT be pushed to buy anything (otherwise, we wouldn’t have accepted to collaborate with them!). But of course, if you are into art and wish to make a purchase, you’ll be welcome to do it.
[icon color=”#A10404″ size=”18″ type=”icon-warning-sign” unit=”px” ] The visit of this Barcelona art gallery can’t be booked by its own: it must be booked as part of a longer tour. Some examples:
[icon color=”#92C30F” size=”18″ type=”icon-circle-arrow-right” unit=”px” ] Include in your itinerary: This activity mixes in beautifully as part of an Old Town tour (the itinerary will be modified in order to make room for the activity – all changes and exclusions will be agreed with you beforehand). Same applies for any other of our city tour itineraries.
[icon color=”#92C30F” size=”18″ type=”icon-circle-arrow-right” unit=”px” ] Add an extra hour: If you don’t wish to make changes in your original itinerary, you can also add one extra hour to your tour, so there is time to visit the contemporary art gallery (if there was some time left after the visit, your guide will suggest other things to do/see to use the extra time).
