What’s The Best Brunch In Barcelona?

BARCELONA BRUNCH – THE YUMMY WAY TO START A SUNDAY

You don’t need to miss your Sunday brunch when you are in Barcelona. Actually, our area has an old tradition of strong breakfasts – the Catalan esmorzars de forquilla, literally “breakfasts to be eaten with a fork”. Head to the bars in the Boqueria market at 8AM to see what I mean! That’s how brunch has quickly become popular among the local (although not super mainstream yet).

If you need to start your sightseeing day with a lot of energy and for you that means a having late breakfast that fills your stomach – that is, brunch!, today you’ll love our post about the best restaurants for brunch in Barcelona. Check them out!

These are our favorite places for a great Barcelona Sunday Brunch:

1

Federal Café

This welcoming 3-floor venue with a Scandinavian feel might be serving one of the best Sunday brunches. Their organic choices attract people from all around the city, and since you can’t book a table, there are often long lines by the wait is worth it. Their eggs with spinach and mushrooms, and their baked beans are some of our favorite Sunday brunch recipes here.

2

Café Veranda at the Arts Hotel

This was probably one of the first places in Barcelona to start serving Sunday brunch some years ago. Placed in one of the best hotels in Barcelona, its brunch is as outstanding as the hotel views. They serve a great range of shellfish, ham, sausages, fresh fruits, baked goods, pastries and drinks. Don’t miss their crepes filled with anything you want. Check out the Arts hotel rooms.

3

Tonka

Located in Eixample district, Tonka is a small family restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine and home-made pastries and tapas. From the street, through the next door you might see the pastry chef working on the pastries you will be eating in a while. All their food is organic: their eggs, meat sausages, bacon, yogurt, honey, bread… Even the tofu sausages included in their vegetarian brunch option.

4

Granja Petitbó

This little restaurant was once a dairy shop. Now, it’s become a vintage place decorated with old-fashioned furniture that confer the place a cozy feel. All their dishes are home-made with fresh products. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays and includes one dish, coffee or tea and one of their original juices. A real Barcelona breakfast!

5

Flax & Kale

Looking for a healthy Barcelona brunch? This flexitarian restaurant offers you a wonderful selection of juices and smoothies that combine perfectly with their breakfast menu including organic eggs, whole-wheat bread sandwiches and even tempting gluten-free bakeries. You’d never say all those treats could be healthy and so delicious at the same time!

AND BONUS! This is the very best brunch in Barcelona?

6

Brunch & Cake

Not in town on Saturdays and Sundays? At Brunch and Cake they serve brunch every day of the week; it’s their specialty! Located in a quiet but central street, this popular cafe offers exceptional food with friendly and professional service. They do not accept bookings, but if you go early enough, you should find a table no problem.

What’s the best brunch you’ve ever had?
