WHERE SHOULD YOU STAY IN BARCELONA?

By the time most travelers start shopping around for tours, they’ve already booked a place to stay. But that’s not always the case, and it’s not unusual that we get asked for recommendations on where to stay.

After listening to their requests, we have written lots of posts in our blog that can be very helpful if you are still trying to figure out where to stay.

We’ve organized them by number of stars, location and special features, so it’s easy for you to select the right hotel for your upcoming trip.

HOTELS BY NUMBER OF STARS

Budget is a crucial point to take into account when starting to consider hotels. And the number of stars of a hotel can give you a quite accurate idea of the level of service and pricing you’ll be offered.

Most people booking private tours prefer 4 or 5 star hotels, but occasionally smart travelers with a smaller budget would rather sacrifice a luxury stay in order to be able to afford a great tour

Here you will find the picks that never fail:

HOTELS BY LOCATION

Unless you are staying in Barcelona for several nights, so a little time wasted traveling back and forth from the city center and top sites to your hotel isn’t a big deal, staying in the city center should be a priority for you.

Barcelona is a very walkeable city, and staying in the heart of Barcelona will allow you to easily hop to your room for a jacket, or to drop shopping bags, or have a quick nap, and it won’t feel like a pain to go back here the action is afterwards.

And you know what? Often hotel adds will assure the venue is located in the “city center”, when no local would call that area “the center”. He following are the REAL central districts in town:

Even if it’s technically in the city center, I would only recommend hotels in the Raval district to adventurous and experienced travelers that aren’t easily scared.

And no, a hotel by the Sagrada Familia Church isn’t as centrally located as you’d think. So unless you are a total Gaudi fan and want to see it in the morning, the afternoon and at night, I don’t think it’s such a great idea to stay in that neighborhood, but I’ll give you some hotel ideas near it anyway.
