Penedes Cava and Wine Tour Reviews

It was about 40 min drive to our first stop and it was an organic farming winery. it was very cozy and after the walk in the cellar where they explained how they made wine there was a tasting. After the tasting you could purchase their products. Then we went to the other cellar and it was a cava-only winery which had specialized on ageing cava. This place was the high-point for me as the family behind the winery were very keen on keeping their products at excellent quality. The “grandpa” of the family also kept very old equipment and barrels that where several hundred years old so we got a picture of how they made wine back then. The tasting here was very exciting as they even had “ice-wine” and marc and not just cava. On our way back to the hotel we got tips on where to eat near our hotel and it was excellent food there! Marta and the driver where very friendly and everyone had a very good time!

Marta took us to the wine country to two wine makers. We can highly recommend Gramona – it was an excellent tour. The 2nd wine maker was also great! We had a wonderful lunch which involved into a unique experience with local winemakers.

We had so much fun on our half day wine tour with Miriam! She is well informed about the wineries, wine making process, and wine history of the region. Plus along the way she was generous with her knowledge of the city and country, adding so much valuable information to our trip. We visited two wineries, both with excellent wines, and very good prices. It was nice to get out of the city and see the surrounding area. We had so much fun and I could have spent much more time with her.
