Reviews of our Private Barcelona Food Tour

We ducked into the Mercado and got a sanck. She took us to a couple of Tapas places that were out of the way, not crowded with tourists, and these were the best tasting tapas we had during our whole time there! Problem was, they were so out of the way, I wasn’t sure how to get back to them! She also showed us where to buy the best bread, the best sweets, etc. and we took advantage of this as well.

She was wonderful with our 7-year-old daughter, very flexible with our requests, and showed us a great “insider” view of the Barcelona food shops and tapas bars. She took us through the Boqueria Market and pointed out some of the more unique offerings, and was very creative at timing everything for when she knew shops and restaurants would be open.

We only had a few days in Barcelona and decided just a few days before the trip that a personal guide might be a good idea. We chose Foreverbarcelona because of the great reviews. We were thankful that they were able to accommodate us on short notice. We went on the Gaudi tour with Bego and the food tour with Marta. It was the best decision we made on our trip. Marta took us to such a wonderful small local restaurants and made great suggestions on what to order. At the end she reviewed our path on a map and circled the restaurants we visited. We went back to a couple of places again the next day. We were so happy we chose Foreverbarcelona and would absolutely recommend them.

If Swissland Cheese in Natal develop a cheese ice cream, it’s because I told them about the amazing one we had in Barcelona with ForeverBarcelona.

She took us to great chocolate, iberia ham, and cheese shops. Her introduction of the Barcelona market showed she listened to our tastes. She took us to a very unique tapas restaurant for lunch which had many options we hadn’t seen at our tapas in the 10 days we had been in Spain already. In the afternoon she took us to the best gelato stores we’ve been to, including Italy.

Our guide, Bego, met us at the Boqueria Market which we toured for an hour. We visited all the food vendors while Bego explained the various Catalonia vegetables and meats being offered. We bought saffron and other spices at prices cheaper than we’d found elsewhere. Then she led us thru the narrow streets of Barri Gotic stopping at various shops, such as one that fire roasted almonds and other points of interest to us. We would have never goine into the Barri as deeply without Bego. She gave us enough confidence that the next day we navigated our way back to a Japanese fabric shop that’ we’d found earlier. The tour ended with great tapas luncheon. In summary ForeverBarcelona provided us with a great tour.

Shopping and eating our way through their favorite shops and cafes was a great way to spend a morning!

I’m a huge foodie and was very happy with the selections she made for dining/sampling treats.

Marta was great! She gave us a very thorough “foodie” tour and we really enjoyed our time with her. Her recommendations were excellent and we feel like we truly experienced how the locals dine!

Fantastic food – fantastic tour – fantastic food! We really enjoyed this tour with Marta and learning about the marketplace, visiting speciality shops (some of which we went back to the next day to buy some wonderful foods), and learning how to order tapas! Marta took us to lots of hidden gems that we wouldn’t have found on our own. Highly recommend!

Although we had booked a food tour, Miriam quickly figured out that we were also interested in history, architecture, shopping and of course food, and she incorporated all into a great 4 hours. Her recommendations were so wonderful that we tried to get back to as many of them as possible during our week.

What a wonderful day! Nothing like a private personal food tour through many different neighborhoods to places I would have never seen. I enjoyed every minute.
