Costa Brava And Girona Day Trip Itinerary

This is a sample itinerary for our Private Girona and Costa Brava Day Trip.
Final itinerary and timings might vary due to many factors (your location and pace, your main interests, traffic conditions…)

9AM

DRIVE TO GIRONA

Enjoying the landscape

1hr 30min

Your guide and your driver will pick you up at your location to take you to Girona. During this lovely ride past the woods and farmlands at the foot of the Montseny mountains, you’ll start learning about the history of Girona and Catalonia, so you have a good background that allows you to take the most out of your visit to Girona once you get there.

EXPLORE GIRONA

Like Italy but without the crowds

10.30AM

The Old Town of Girona is one of the most beautiful medieval areas in our land. Its medieval Jewish Quarter, also called Call, hides a fascinating (and unfortunately sad) history. And the Christian remains, including a magnificent Cathedral, some charming Baths and ancient city walls makes for a well-worth morning of history and sightseeing. Follow your guide to discover its secrets.

12.15PM

COSTA BRAVA

Medieval Mediterranean

1PM

Tossa de Mar is one of the most dramatic villages in Costa Brava, with its main beach crowned in one end by the medieval enclosure, surrounded by imposing medieval towers: it is the only seaside town that has preserved its medieval fortifications in Catalonia.

You’ll love walking down the cobble-stoned streets of the Old Town, where still nowadays people leaves. Ava Gardner was here shooting a movie, and Sinatra came quickly when he heard rumors of her having an affair with a bullfighter…

Before lunch there is time to walk around the village, or if you have the stamina, climb the hill up to the defense towers that once protected the locals from the pirates. The view over the bay is worth the walk.

LUNCH BY THE SEA

Time to Eat!

2PM

Enjoy a lovely lunch at a local restaurant of the seafront. Paella and seafood are very popular, but you might also want to try one of the local specialties that once were the poor food of the fishermen at sea, and now are considered gourmet delicacies.

DRIVE TO BACK TO BARCELONA

Enjoying the landscape

3.30PM

Back to the car, continue discussing with your tour guide what you’ve seen today, ask as many questions you have left, get recommendations for the rest of your stay or… enjoy a nice nap to help you digest the meal!

5PM

At the end of the tour, you’ll be dropped off back to your hotel or apartment, after a great day out of town.
