Meet Míriam

Knowledgeable, fun, great with kids, experienced and passionate

Míriam introduces herself

Hi! I’m Míriam and I was born in Canet de Mar, a charming seaside village between Barcelona and Girona: I’m a true Catalan!

I studied tourism in Girona, then lived in Barcelona for many years (I’ll always be in love with the Gràcia district), but now I’m back to Canet to raise my baby girl.

I met Marta when we were passing our exams to become official tour guides in 2000. Soon afterwards, I got hired by one of the companies that offer daily step-up sightseeing tours, and there we met again one day that Marta joined one of their excursions to Montserrat because she needed to learn how “professional tour guides” organized this daytrip. I was the guide that day, so Marta often says that a lot of the things she knows about Montserrat she learned them from me! ☺

I’m a traveler: I convinced Marta to join me on a trip to the Middle East (when it was still safe), but my favorite remains India: I can’t wait to go back!

I love photography, food and art. I’m passionate, emotional, very honest and straightforward.

What we love about her

Having Míriam as your guide will be the icing on the cake of your trip. She will show you our city like an old good friend, taking you not just to the main sites but also to her favorite hidden gems, and you’ll be amazed at her knowledgeable commentary. There is no question she can’t answer!

But she’s also lots of fun to be with, and her love and enthusiasm for Barcelona is so contagious that you won’t want the tour to end.

Plus if you are traveling with your family, she’s amazing with kids and she knows how to keep your teens engaged.

She speaks fluent English and French, and good Italian.

What customers say

This is why everyone raves about Miriam:

Philham711 (Great Neck, New York, USA)

Miriam has been our guide on several tours for the last three years. Her knowledge of art and art history is second to none. I now know more about Picasso than a college semester course would offer, but in far less time.

Kathy Cox (USA)

Miriam was everything you promissed and more.

Jackie Girardhi (New York, USA)

We absolutely love our guide Míriam and would HIGHLY recommend you request her!”

From the start you can feel her enthusiasm and passion for Barcelona, its people, history and traditions. Míriam’s knowledge of history is unsurpassed. She took us to everything we wanted to see and more. Even shared places to experience the best chocolates, olive oil, jamon and pastries!!

Because of her throrough knowledge and passion we can’t wait to return to Barcelona!

Fraser M. (Toronto, Canada)

Within minutes we felt like old friends.

CCMCMEIb (Australind, Australia)

Miriam has a wealth of information and she speaks good English and communicates her ideas and knowledge really well. We really enjoyed spending 4 hours with her and could have easily spent more time. Míriam is friendly and we all got on well. We learned so much and Miriam chatted about many topics of interest to us.

Barcelona is an amazing city BUT it was Miriam who truly made it amazing.

Karin Z (New York, USA)

I don’t think we would have enjoyed our time nearly as much if Miriam was not with us.

EEM1561 (Darien, Connecticut, USA)

Miriam was incredibly knowledgeable about history but was also very entertaining and relatable. We were a couple with two sons in their 20s and Miriam struck just the right balance of serious and fun.

Lacey F (Birmingham, Michigan, USA)

With a halfday walking/taxi tour with Míriam and she was phenomenal. Very insightful and had lots of great recommendations for after our tour as well. It was also nice how she customized our tour on the spot to fit our needs. I wish we had signed up for a longer tour with her!

Ed H Minnesota (Minnesota, USA)

She fit right into our family.

Michaela (El Dorado Hills, CA, USA)

We were very disappointed that Marta was not able to be our guide as she was already committed those days. But Marta insisted that we would be happy with her friend and colleague Miriam. And we were!

Touring with Miriam was like having a good friend of a friend show you around. It felt very comfortable. And Miriam is extremely articulate and intelligent.

Beth Y (Warrenton, Virginia, USA)

She went above and beyond the call of duty for us.

Linda Mierz

Miriam was our guide 1 1/2 years ago, she was excellent, we completely enjoyed our full day tour with her. We’re returning to Barcelona this fall and have 2 tours booked with Míriam as our guide. Míriam, see you in November.

Mweis1969l (Illinois, USA)

By the end of the tour she had me professing my love for a man gone since 1926! (Gaudi tour).

Lakshmilaroia (Hong Kong, China)

In spite of having traveled to Barcelona several times – with Miriam we discovered a new city. She was full of energy – effortlessly answered all our questions – took us to places we would never have known of – all the time sharing her infectious enthusiasm and depth of knowledge about the history of the city with us. The best day!

Miriam’s love of art is contagious.

Alice D (New York, USA)

She took us to places we would have missed had we just walked the city ourselves.

Deathbycupcake2 (Wilmington, North Carolina, USA)

Miriam is truly a gem and I cannot wait to return to Barcelona and tour with her again.
