FAQ
The level of alert fluctuates depending on the evolution of COVID in the area.
Detailed information about what's allowed and what's not here.
ARE YOU TAKING NEW BOOKINGS?
Yes! While some tours are not available due to some sites being closed, we are happy to show you around. Contact us if you are interested in touring with us in your next trip to Barcelona. The capacity of the vehicles used on tour might also suffer restrictions.
WHAT SAFETY MEASURES ARE BEING IMPLEMENTED BY FOREVERBARCELONA?
We are implementing the safety measures and information protocols issued by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. All recommendations can be found here.
WHY ARE PRIVATE TOURS SAFER?
Private tours are safer than groups because your contact with strangers will be minimal. Our guides know all the tricks to avoid crowds and keep you safe and comfortable.
IS THERE A GROUP SIZE LIMIT?
Yes, there are group size limits even if your group is private. According to the BOE (Spanish Official State Gazette) of May 30, groups must stay under 20 people. Sites and museums might impose their own group size limits.
ARE MASKS MANDATORY?
As of July 9 the Catalan Government has made the use of masks mandatory at all times, even when social distance can be kept and including outdoors (with exceptions in beach and sport situations). People not using masks risk being fined.
WHEN MASKS STOP BEING MANDATORY IN ALL SITUATIONS:
Tour guides and drivers will wear masks during the entire service. Guests must use masks indoors (including but not limited to sites, stores and transportation means) and when social distance is not possible. Refusal to use a mask when asked to might result in being denied entrance to a site, venue or transportation means - No refunds will be given in such cases. Use outdoors when social distance is possible is optional for guests.
Guests must bring their own masks, even for outdoor itineraries, in case they need to use them when social distance is not possible. Masks can be purchased in local pharmacies and a variety of other shops such as supermarkets and clothing stores.
IS SANITIZING GEL AVAILABLE?
Your guide will offer you sanitizing gel at the beginning of the tour, and will encourage you to wash hands regularly on tour when possible. Our drivers will also have sanitizing gel available inside the vehicle. Sites, museums and stores usually have sanitizing gel available too, but we recommend you to bring your own supply to be in control of your own hygiene.
ON SOCIAL DISTANCE AND HEADSETS (on request)
The recommended social distance that must be respected is 1.5 to 2 meters (depending on the site) - 5 to 6.5 feet. Single-use or sanitized radio headset devices will be made available on request upon booking to allow each guest to keep the social distancing of your choice, while continuing to hear your tour guide. You are welcome to bring your own headphones (with jack connector), if you prefer, and connect them to our receivers.
CHAUFFEURED TOURS
Drivers will wear masks and globes during the entire service, and passengers are required masks inside the vehicles. Sanitizing gel will be available and vehicle capacities will be reduced according to each phase safety rules.
DO YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC COVID-19 POLICY?
Yes, it is additional to our Terms and Conditions and you can find it here.
WHAT SITES ARE OPEN?
SITES, MUSEUMS AND MONUMENTS
Tourist sites and museums are allowed to start reopening but to a 1/2 of their usual capacity (however, reopening remains a decision of each site). They are implementing their own safety measures, that can include not allowing tours inside.
UPDATE ON OUR TEAM
WE ARE ALL SAFE AND SOUND
Everyone in our team and our families are safe and sound so far.
OUR TOUR GUIDES
All our tour guides are freelancers and have been granted a government help for as long as the state of alarm lasts. The ones with young kids have also been granted a small one-time payment from the Catalan government. We are all connected and sharing information on new grants being released.
OUR ADMIN TEAM
Roser, our Bookings Manager and only employee, had a seasonal contract that could be discontinued when needed. Thanks to this, she's been able to receive unemployment benefits.
Silvia, our virtual assistant, is a freelancer and continues to collaborate with us until the last package of hours we booked with her is used up. She's also been able to access the government help until the state of alarm ends.
Oriol, Marta's husband and in charge of site tickets is planning to focus fulltime on his career as a primary school teacher.
HOW TO SUPPORT US
We are grateful for having guests that we can consider old friends, like you. We love making you fall in love with Barcelona and help you creating memories you’ll treasure forever.
Unfortunately, these are difficult times for the tourism industry. Colleagues and competitors alike are struggling, many probably never coming back into business – specially those who started giving tours more recently… But that’s not us. Our guides have years of experience and their love for Barcelona and passion for sharing our land has remained intact, if not grown.
We are decided to hibernate for several months if needed, and get ready to come back stronger and better. We dream of being back to the streets and guide you around. Will you help us survive?
Help our cash flow. Buy a voucher now and redeem it when and how you like it. No expiration date. Transferable to another person of your choice.
Help us stay on top and share your experience with other travelers. Ask your travel mates to do it, too! Google, Tripadvisor or Facebook: If you've already done it in one platform, do another now.
It helps to know people out there want to hear from us! Plus sometimes our blog posts include affiliate links: if you use them to purchase something we get a small commission at no extra cost for you!
