Hot spots for fashion hunting in the alleys of the Born
The Born district is considered by many the Barcelona Soho, a maze of wonderful backstreets where you need to get lost to find the best shopping treasures. The places to be when you are shopping in Barcelona!
Although some international casual brands have already opened their boutiques here, we can still say that in this neighborhood most of the shops are owned by local designers and craftsmen. Their ateliers and showrooms are just fascinating. Let’s discover them together!
Here are the 5 best shops in Barcelona El Born district:
Loisada Vintage. Let’s start with some fun. This store has an amazing mix of vintage objects and clothing, both for man and women. Collectors and flea market lovers will simply adore it.
Cortana. I’m always in love with their windows with their creations hanging from hangers. So simple, yet so elegant. You will love their chic creations: feminine, natural and simple. Rosa Esteva, the designer, has been awarded the price to the Best Spanish designer by the Telva fashion magazine.
Anna Povo. Women clothing with original asymmetric cuts, fun colors and soft textures. Urban, casual and happy, these clothes will make you feel different and pretty.
Iriarte Iriarte. Two Argentinian sisters living in Barcelona opened this workshop where they handcraft high quality leather goods (bags and accessories). They can even custom make your own personal request if you are staying long enough in town. Their style combines the classy flavor of vintage with a contemporary touch that makes them timeless.
Vialis. Let’s go for some shoes, now! This company of Barcelona shoemakers is proud of their creative designs, and the love and care with which they age the leather for their shoes, sandals and boots. Lovely and with personality.
I had to leave out so many other great shops… But there wasn’t room for all of them. So go ahead and get lost in the Born alleys to explore them. Or if you prefer, we can take you on a Barcelona shopping tour that you’ll never forget. And bring home something memorable rather than cheesy cheap souvenirs!
AND BONUS! A shop so hidden in the Born alleys I bet you wouldn’t find on your own:
Jabberwocky. Two Argentinian sisters and their brother own this little atelier where they gorgeous handmade knitted tops and jackets. Wool is king in the winter, while cotton and linen are their favorites for the hot months. They use lovely bright colors and comfortable textures.
