The Wittmore is the only 5 star hotel in Barcelona that publicises itself as an adult hotel. It is located in a narrow alley at the bottom of the Gothic Quarter. Taxis can't drop you off by the door, but a few feet away at the beginning of the alley. You'll be less than 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral area, the Born district and La Rambla, and just a couple of blocks from the Port Vell marina and the beginning of the Barceloneta district. Definitely a great location!
The Wittmore is a perfect choice for those who prefer to stay away from the tourist crowds but still want to be within walking distance of most of them. It offers you a serene atmosphere with a modern design and vintage touches, that reminds you of speak-easies and old intellectual clubs.

It is located in an off-the-beaten-path area of the Eixample district that locals call “Gayxample” – the Gay Eixample, because the area concentrates a relevant number of other gay businesses. You’ll be walking distance from Plaça Espanya – one of the accesses to the Hill of Montjuic, and the hipster district of Sant Antoni and its cool tapas bars.

It is located within walking distance of the foodie and artsy Poblenou district, as well as from the CCCIB convention center. But for all your sightseeing you’ll need to take taxis or take public transportation.

Axel Barcelona was the first gay hotel to open in Barcelona, and its location is more central than the TWO. Also within the Gayxample area, it is only 4 blocks away from Casa Batllo, the fancy boutiques of Passeig de Gracia and the beginning of la Rambla, and it’s within walking distance from the Gothic Quarter and the Sant Antoni restaurants. Yet still trendy, it has a more relaxed and fun vibe than the TWO, and its peruvian sushi bar attracts both locals and visitors.

And its Fismuler restaurant is said to have one of the best cheesecakes in town. It has a very artsy feel, with over a dozen creators having participated in the design of the different areas and items of the hotel.

Amfores is a boutique adult-only guest house, located in an alley of the Born district, around the corner from the gorgeous Palau de la Musica Catalana (the alley might be too narrow for taxis to be able to drop you off by the door, you may have to walk from the main street), and walking distance from the Gothic Quarter and Passeig de Gracia. It boasts a Mediterranean design with quirky vintage touches and points of color, as well as full-wall images of Barcelona landmarks animating the corners.

The Moods Cathedral | 2 Stars
While they don’t specifically advertise themselves as an adult-only hotel, when you book they clearly state only adults are welcome. Located around the corner of the Cathedral of Barcelona and facing the Roman Walls, the location is great to explore both the Gothic Quarter, La Rambla and El Born. The decoration inside is serene, with natural materials and a mix of Mediterranean and Nordic design. They have a second hotel in a more residential and business area near Gracia, which features the only golf practice field in town.

One Fam Hostel | 1 Star
Despite its name, the One Fam isn’t a hostel for families, but affordable accomodation for young adults. They actually have an age limit of 18 to 45 years old. It is located only a couple of blocks from La Rambla and the Port Vell marina, and well connected by subway with all the other tourist sites. And they have both private and shared rooms. They have 4 other locations in town, and our second favorite is the one in Eixample, One Fam Batllo, near Plaça Universitat.

Barcelona adult-friendly hotels
There's also some hotels that don't advertize themselves as fully adults-only accommodations, but they just make it difficult for families with kids to book there, somehow filtering out their target public. There's others that take kids, but only from a certain age and up, considering that younger children would alter the vibe that they want to achieve for their venue. So because they aren't "pure" adult-only hotels but you might be interested in them, I've added them separetely in this section.

While not an adult-only hotel per se, they don’t make if easy for families with kids to stay there: they only have double rooms. Abac is the perfect choice for fine dinning lovers, as their restaurant is one of the few 3-star Michelin restaurants in Barcelona. The hotel is located in a wealthy residential district, and connected by subway with the city center in 10 minutes, great for people looking for privacy.

While they don’t claim to be adult-only, they only offer double rooms with no possibility of adding a third bed, which makes it difficult for families to use this accommodation. Simple, comfortable and clean but with little extras, and very centrally located only two blocks away from Passeig de Gracia, this hotel is perfect for those that plan to spend more time out there sightseeing than hanging out in their hotel room.

Chic & Basic Born Boutique Hotel | 3 Stars
This trendy hotel caters young adults with style, but they also have triple rooms where they accept kids 12 years old or older, as long as they area accompanied by an adult. But if you want to avoid the risk of crossing a minor during your stay, their sister hotel Habana Hoose only offers single and double rooms, even if no age restrictions are stated in their website. Chic & Basic Born is located in the edge of the Born District, very close to the Ciutadella Park.

Sant Jordi Hostel Rock Palace | 2 Stars
A cool youth hostel themed around the rock&roll legends. It is conveniently located only 2 blocks away from Casa Batllo and Passeig de Gracia. They have both private and shared rooms, as well as women-only shared rooms. The changes of crossing kids during your stay are low, and in any case, they aren’t allowed to book shared rooms. They also have a skate-themed hostel in an off the beaten path district of Clot (some 20 minutes walk from Sagrada Familia), and another one in the boho area of Gracia – but none of them with pool.

Barcelona Adult Only Love Hotels

Super Love Hotels | 2 stars
Barcelona has its own hotel chain of rooms by hours, for couples of lovers that aren't interested in sightseeing, if you know what I mean. Mirrors, seducing music, subdued lights, round beds, jacuzzis, adult toys, and guaranteed discretion and cleanliness. They are, of course, adult-only hotels. Actually, there's even one of them that shares their venue with travelers, and I suspect many of their bookers don't even suspect what's happening in the rest of the rooms, as it advertises with its own brand (La França Travellers) and a slightly different address, even if it's actually the same venue as their by-hours hotel La França.
That’s why I didn’t list it with the other adults-only hotels in Barcelona. The other love hotels in Barcelona are La Paloma and Regas, and they can also be booked in major hotel booking platforms as a regular hotel. However if you contact them directly they also have the option of booking by hours, what means they start charging upon check-in and your stay will end as soon as you exit the room (you won’t be able to re-enter it once you leave it).
