Best of 2023

What content has been the favorite IN 2023?

2023 is ending and it’s time to look back and see what has worked and what hasn’t. And as it’s become tradition for ForeverBarcelona, I come to you with my list of top blog posts and tours. If you’ve been around with us for a while, it can be interesting to see what other readers find interesting. And if you are new to our blog, it’ll be a great way to discover content that you might have missed. So let’s see what has been the most successful in 2023:

We publish a blog post per week, and that means 52 posts per year! It’s not easy to come up with 52 interesting subjects to talk about, specially when we have already over 500 posts published. So this year we’ve been rewriting old content that had become dated, as well as creating new content as well. We are happy with the results! So let’s see which have been the most visited posts in 2023:

Our post about the Sagrada Familia towers stays strong in first position, and How to say cheers in Spanish moves to 2nd position, switching places with Things to do on Sunday in Barcelona. The post about Restaurants in Las Ramblas remains #4, followed by the first novelty in the list: our post about Picasso’s children that climbs to €5. The 6th place goes to the post about Sport bars to watch soocer, that moves up from 9th place last year. And on 7th position there’s another new post, the one about Siesta in Spain, that pushes down the Meaning of Dali’s paintings to the 8th place. The spot #9 is for our 5-Day itinerary of Barcelona, falling from 6th position. And 10 and last is another new post, the one about the Black Madonna of Montserrat.

Most opened newsletters

Every week the post we publish in our blog is forwarded to the subscribers in our newsletters (if you haven’t subscribed yet, do it now to be the first to know when a new post is published!). And of course, there’s weeks that the post gets more traction than others.  Let’s see what has worked best! For the purpose of this ranking we’ve looked at the ones with most openings, but also the ones that got more clicks to continue to read on the blog.

And while last year it was pretty clear what newsletters were the winners, this year it hasn’t been that easy: the most opened posts didn’t get that many clicks, and the ones with a larger percentage of clicks were some of the ones that got the least openings. We’l find the lessons that are to be learned from this. But for you, we did the math and tried to balance things out. And this is the ranking that comes as a result:

Most visited tours

As you may know, ForeverBarcelona isnt’ just a blog about travel in Barcelona, but we are also a private tour company. 2023 has been a very busy season, with our tour guides showing around guests non-stop. Are you curious to know which have been our best seller tours? It’s not a surprise that our Private Gaudi Tour stays strong on first spot, followed by our Daytrip to Montserrat, that continues also in second position. Our Private tour of Sagrada Familia switches places with our Tapas Tour to become #3. The fifth place is for our Highlights tour by car, that jumps there from 9 position, and pushing one spot down our walking tour of the Gothic Quarter (now #6). Number 7 goes to our Barcelona Food Tour, that goes up one spot. And in 8th position there’s our first novelty: our Private walking tour of Barcelona. Next goes the Shopping tour, falling from 5th to 9th place. And the last spot of our Top-10 ranking is the Roman Ruins tour.
