Barcelona In One Day Sightseeing Tour

Do you only have one day in Barcelona and want to see all the must-sees? Walking is not your thing? Are you ready to splurge in the comfort of having a private driver for your sightseeing?

Whether it is that you have walking issues or that you plainly not like walking or taking public transportation, this tour is the solution for you. Let us handle all the planning, timing and reservations, and explore the city by the hand of your private tour guide and a dedicated driver in a luxury air-conditioned Mercedes vehicle. Skipping lines, of course!

  • Gothic Quarter
  • Cathedral (inside or outside, as you prefer)
  • Jewish Section
  • Eixample District / Passeig de Gràcia
  • Block of Disagreement & Casa Batlló (outside)

  • Casa Milà / Pedrera (inside)
  • Tapas lunch
  • Park Güell (inside)
  • Sagrada Família church (inside)
  • 1888 World Fair area
  • Waterfront
  • Montjuïc Hill

Final itinerary and timings might vary due to many factors (Park Guell and Sagrada Familia tickets availability, your location and pace, your main interests…)

  • Meet your guideGOTHIC QUARTER

Your Barcelona in One Day Sightseeing Tour will start strolling around the medieval alleys and squares of the Gothic Quarter, where we’ll see Roman ruins, Gothic patios, the Royal Palace, the City Council and the Generalitat Government building, amongst other.

The main site there is the Cathedral, a remarkable Gothic basilica. Not to miss the wooden choir, the artistic side chapels, the crypt of St. Eulàlia and the cloister with the gees.

Also in the area we’ll be able to visit the Call, the medieval Jewish Section. Not many elements where left after the quarter was attacked in 1391, but if you are interested in the history of minorities, there you can still feel the atmosphere of the Middle Ages, and visit the oldest synagogue in Europe.

  • Barcelona ModernismEIXAMPLE DISTRICT

After that, the driver will take you to the Eixample District, the Expansion area where the local Art Nouveau, known as Modernism, bloomed in the late 1800s and early 1900s. You’ll learn about Ildefons Cerdà’s city plan.

In the most elegant street of the city, Passeig de Gràcia, you’ll get familiar with the 3 best architects of the time at the Block of Disagreement: Domènech i Muntaner, Puig i Cadafalch, and of course, Antoni Gaudí who build there the colorful Casa Batlló. There there’ll be a photo stop with explanations of the outside.

  • The Stone QuarryCASA MILÀ (La Pedrera)

While your guide can take you inside Casa Batlló instead if you prefer, we usually recommend to enter La Pedrera because the views from its amazing rooftop are much better, and inside they have a great exhibit about Gaudi’s technique and a full apartment decorated with antique furniture from the early 1900’s that helps you visually understand how people would have lived a hundred years ago in a Gaudi house.

  • Time to eat!TAPAS LUNCH

We recommend tapas for lunch, because this Spanish way of eating and sharing food allows you to taste a variety of local specialties, it’s faster than eating a 3-course meal or a paella, and… it’s fun!

  • Fairy-tale landPARK GÜELL

In the afternoon, your Barcelona In One Day Sightseeing Tour continues with a short 10min ride to get to the Park Güell: an unfinished project by Gaudí, commissioned by his friend and patron Eusebi Güell. This failed housing development has become the most fairy-talish park in Barcelona.

Next your private tour guide will take you to the Sagrada Família Church, Gaudí’s Masterpiece, where he worked the last 43 years of his life until his death in 1926. Still a work in process, it’s scheduled to be completed by 2026-30 approx. Yet the inside is the most breathtaking place you’ve ever seen!.

  • Panoramic drive1888 WORLD FAIR & WATERFRONT

The last part of the tour, when usually energy levels start dropping, will be lighter: we’ll drive past the area of the 1888 World Fair (Ciutadella Park and Arch of Barcelona in one day sightseeing tour: Arch of TriomphTriumph), and along the Waterfront (Olympic village and marina, beaches, Barceloneta fishermen district, Port Vell (Old Port) & Columbus circle).

  • Historical eventsMONTJUIC HILL

Your Barcelona in One Day Sightseeing Tour ends with a visit the Montjuïc Hill where we’ll stop at a vantage point to see the City views, pass the 1992 Olympic facilities including Stadium, then continue through the 1929 World Fair & Plaça Espanya.

At the end of the tour, you’ll be dropped off back to your hotel or apartment.

This tour is great for people with no budget issues that doesn’t wish to walk much or take taxis, and that have a full day to explore all the must-see in Barcelona.

If you are traveling with kids, this tour works great because despite being long the comfort of having a private driver helps keeping their stamina levels up.

If you have walking issues, this tour is perfect because despite being some stops that involve some walking to explore the sites, the driver will spare you lots of unnecessary walking.

If you are on a wheelchair, a private driver will definitely be easier than depending on taxis to move around. This tour is suitable for even wheelchairs (EXCEPT FOR THE SAGRADA FAMILIA TOWERS, which are anyway optional).

If you don’t want to walk but budget is an issue, consider booking a 4-hour chauffeured tour instead. It’ll give you a good overview of the city so you can go back to your favorite sites later and go inside on your own.

If you do enjoy walking but think a driver will help you exploring some areas more efficiently, check out our half walking and half chauffeured full day tour.

  • Tour length: 8 hours.
  • Entrance fees are not included*. Prices range from €8 to €22.5/person and can be paid cash or credit card.
  • Lunch is not included. A typical tapas meal takes around 45 minutes and costs around €15-20/person.
  • The final order of the itineraries might vary depending on your location, as well as Park Guell tickets availability.
  • Transportation provided in private Mercedes Viano minivan (upto 6 of you) or Mercedes E Class car (couples), depending vehicle availability, with a dedicated driver. Groups of 7 or more will need larger vehicles at an extra cost.
  • AND TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THAT… To enter the Cathedral you need to cover your shoulders and your skirt or pants must be long to your knee. The dress code at the Sagrada Familia Church isn’t usually too strict, but they have occasionally banned access to people wearing short shorts (closer to their butts than to their knees), deep plunging necklines or open backs.

* ATTENTION. Upon booking, you’ll also be charged for the tickets of Park Güell in advance, as we’ll need to book them in advance.

Our tours only include the towers upon request. You need to know that:

It is not possible anymore to just climb the stairs: the way up is now only possible by elevator. However, the number of tickets available is restricted to just a few every hour, for an extra fee.

If there is availability, you are given a specific time to get in the line for the elevator (either the one in the Passion façade or the one in the Nativity façade, but not both), and after a 5 to 20 minute wait you finally get in the elevator that takes you to almost the top of the towers. From there you must walk down: it is not permitted to use the elevator to go down anymore. The whole process takes almost one hour, so unless you are OK shortening the rest of the tour itinerary, you should book one extra hour to be able to do the towers.

Do we recommend the towers, though? Only for the adventure of climbing spiral stairs, but not for the views as you’ll get better views from many other city sites. After all, those towers were designed to be bell towers, not vantage points. Also, the way down is narrow and occasionally claustrophobic, and it is definitely not for people scared of heights.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Private Full Day tour with Miriam as our guide. She is knowledgeable, warm and friendly. Carlos and Miriam met us at the pier at the agreed upon time to begin our full day touring Barcelona. We started with a panoramic tour, as Carlos drove us through the city, Miriam described each important site responding to any questions we asked. When we arrived at La Sagrada Familia, it was very busy, Miriam whisked us to the entrance and without delay we were inside viewing this magnificent church designed by gaudi. Miriam communicated throughout the day to Carlos our driver, who arrived without delay to drive us to the next site. We continued our city tour as we were driven to Park Guell, and again although the lines were long we immediately entered and began our tour. We saw Casa Mila then stopped at a restaurant where Miriam introduced us to delicious tapas, pinchos, paella, sangria and cava. We next had a walking tour along La Rambla and through the Gothic Quarter. We were amazed as we walked through La Boqueria at the displays of fresh produce, meats, fish and candy. At the end of the day Carlos returned us to the pier where we hugged Miriam goodbye with hopes of seeing her and Barcelona again.

We booked a full day tour of Barcelona with Marta and we had the most wonderful experience. She had our day planned out perfectly and also gave us suggestions as to what to see and do on our other days in Barcelona. We had a private driver which was terrific - he was waiting for us at each site making the day run even more smoothly. We would highly recommend booking a tour with her - it is absolutely worth every penny!!

We are a family of 5 who visited Barcelona after a long cruise. We needed a tour that would take us to all the highlights but allow us to rest in an air-conditioned car. We chose the full day chauffeured tour. Although it is more expensive, it was worth it for our family with a kid who happened to have a fever that day. Alse, we saw a non-licensed van get pulled over by police. Begoña was the best!! She is very knowledgeable and at the same time, friendly and easy going. If you are going in the summer with kids, and have the means, spend the money for the full day van and ask for Begoña!

Picked up in an air con Merc, Marta took us to the hot spots of Barcelona in style! What she doesn't know about the beautiful city isn't worth knowing and clearly she is proudly barcelonian. Tips for eating spots and almost instant access to Gaudi's cathedral saving us lining up for 2 hrs paid for her fee twice over. The whole days was simply relaxing information and gave us the foundation information for the rest of our stay!

We had an eight hour tour with our guide Javier and driver Michael. There was definitely walking involved, but it was also great to walk out of a park, cathedral, etc. and have our car and driver waiting for us. We highly recommend this tour and Javier!
